Leading the Way in Robotic Surgery
What Is Robotic Surgery?
Robotic surgery, or more accurately robot-assisted surgery, provides surgeons with an alternative to both traditional surgery and conventional laparoscopy, putting a surgeon's hands at the controls of a state-of-the-art robotic platform. It enables surgeons to perform complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions with unmatched precision. Robotic surgery patients can often return to normal activity more quickly, versus several weeks for many conventional open surgeries.
In robotic surgery, the surgeon uses a computer-enhanced surgical instrument to perform precise, minimally invasive procedures that translate into less pain and blood loss, with a quicker recovery time. Learn more about the procedures used with the da Vinci® Si surgical system.
