Our Wonderful Environment

We have 11 beautiful and spacious birthing suites with comfortable amenities to make you and your family members feel at home through your entire birthing experience. Some of the amenities you can expect are:

• An in-room refrigerator for your use
• Celebration dinner after the birth of your new baby
• In-room Jacuzzi (in four suites only)
• Private Jacuzzi (for those suites without an in-room spa)
• Color TV & DVD player
• In-room meal service until 7 p.m. providing delicious, freshly-prepared meals. Sandwiches and salads are available late evenings.
• Balcony
• Informative book for new mothers
• Bathroom amenities
• A rocking chair and bassinet in your room
• Pull-out sleeper for partner, coach or family member

Behind the beautiful environment is a high-tech hospital with the latest equipment and technology, as well as a highly-trained staff, to ensure your safety throughout your birthing experience. Should you require a C-section, a team is ready at all times to meet this and other special needs within the birthing suite. Whatever may occur, you can be confident that we will provide a personal yet professional birthing experience for you and your family.

Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center has been designated as a “Baby-Friendly USA Hospital”.

Baby-Friendly USA, Inc. is the U.S. authority for the implementation of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The Baby-Friendly designation is the gold standard of maternity care and demonstrates our commitment to the healthiest beginning for you and your baby.

All of our employees have received extensive training in breast-feeding support. In addition, our Lactation Consultants are available during your stay or after your discharge for any special breast-feeding needs or concerns you may have.
